Show a regular passive income of at least €870 per month (around €10,440/year) from pensions, rental income, dividends, royalties or other non-employment sources. The requirement increases by 50% for a spouse and 30% per dependent child.
Provide recent bank statements showing you have sufficient savings to support yourself during your stay—ideally covering at least 12 months of living expenses in Portugal.
Obtain private travel and health insurance covering all medical expenses in Portugal for the duration of your visa or residence permit, with no co-payments.
Submit a police clearance certificate from your country of residence (and any country lived in during the last 5 years), issued within the last 90 days, apostilled or legalised, and translated into Portuguese.
Include a rental contract, property deed, or formal invitation/hosting letter confirming your housing arrangements in Portugal.
