Ten years ago, Tom Brooks and Philipp Langer each went through the process with their own families. Visa applications, residency permits, tax numbers, bank accounts, schools, all of it in a language and a system that was not their own. Hidden fees. Outsourced “relocation experts”. Rules changed without notice. Two consulates read the same regulation differently. And one missing certificate that cost three months.
That experience is the foundation of Roots Global. We went through the process ourselves, and it set our values and priorities from day one: honest advice before a signature, a fixed price before the first document, and one person on the ground who answers. Our own journey shaped the firm from the ground up. We know the forms because we have filled them in for ourselves, and we know the waiting because we have done it.
