Ensure the role meets Portugal's minimum wage or industry-specific salary standards. Highly skilled positions may have higher salary thresholds, while general roles must at least meet the national minimum wage.
Secure an employment contract or a binding job offer from a Portuguese employer for a position that cannot be filled by an EU/EEA/Swiss citizen. The contract must meet Portuguese labour law requirements.
Obtain private travel and health insurance covering all medical expenses in Portugal until you are registered with the Portuguese social security and healthcare system.
A clean, recently issued police certificate is required from every country you've lived in. Roots will help you translate and notarize this document as needed.
